What diabetic supplies are covered by Medicare?

Medicare covers most of the typical diabetic supplies with limitations on how much or how often you get supplies. Item's covered include:

  • test strips
  • glucose meters / glucose monitors
  • lancets / lancet devices
  • lancing devices
  • glucose control solutions

To be sure Medicare covers your supplies, make sure you have ordered the items and that your supplier is at an understanding you are using Medicare. The pharmacy and/or supplier must be enrolled with Medicare and must submit claims for supplies, you can not do this yourself.

We recommend comparing any diabetic supplies  in online comparison charts before ordering any products; to see what is the best for you needs because of the limitations on coverage.
